About Clear as Mudd Films
Clear as Mudd Films has been producing independent film in Boise since 2009. It started when two brothers had the dream to make their own films. Through much trial and error, blood, sweat, tears, and heartbreak Clear as Mudd Films as it is today was formed.
Clear as Mudd Films has become a non-profit film production company, aimed at reaching today's teenagers and giving them the opportunity to experience film, that isn't readily available in this area. Boise has made incredible strides to build its film community into a supportive and creative environment. Unfortunately, when film is produced to make money or gain attention from festivals, many people are passed over in favor of experience. We do not claim that this doesn't make sense or have its place in Boise, because it does. But, Clear as Mudd Films is here for the people who don't get those opportunities; to give them experience, knowledge and confidence to move on to bigger and better things.
We do this by making our projects accessible and available to everyone, regardless of skill or prior experience. Also, by offering the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience through our Film Camp.
"Throughout my journey over the last decade I've met a lot of young people. Most of them teenagers, with the same dream. But no idea how to accomplish it. I brought them on to my crews, put them in roles and a few of them have enjoyed some success. One went on to film school in Washington D.C. to learn how to be a cinematographer. One went to LA and got an agent and has earned her SAG eligibility and has acted in indie films and commercials down there. A third, just won his first award as a director at the i48 this year. I learned that this is why I continue to do what I do. Film has never and can never be about the money for me. And I am not knocking anyone who has that goal. But, for me it has been about telling my story and helping other people tell theirs."
-Matt Mudd, President and Founder of Clear as Mudd Films
This summer we will officially launch our non-profit and education programs. We hope to bring film to more people and allow it to change their lives the way it has changed ours.

PRESIDENT
"Film has lost its soul. We have traded passion for money. It's time for us to revive cinema as an art form. Specifically, the life changing art form it used to be. It starts by resisting Hollywood and the commercialism and giving power back to the dreamers." -Matt Mudd |
